Ik ben absoluut geen fan van de Raimi Aunt May. In deel 1 vond ik het nog net doenbaar en waren er zoveel andere leuke Spiderman ontdekkingen, maar de kleffe scenes met haar in deel 2 hebben ervoor gezorgd dat ik nooit de moeite heb gedaan om deel 3 te zien.

Grappig genoeg heb ik bij alle vragen een andere incarnatie. 

 

Beste film (by far) Spider-Man 2. Vooral vanwege de fantastische Doc Ock.

Beste Spider-Man acteur Tom Holland. Hier komt de typische Spidey-humor het best tot zijn recht. 

Beste main love interest Emma Stone. In Dunst heb ik nooit een MJ gezien en Zendaya is leuk als moderne jonge vrouw, maar ik heb geen binding met het personage.

 

Ik ben erg benieuwd naar de nieuwe film waarin waarschijnlijk Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield én Tom Holland samen te zien zijn. Dat zal wel kort zijn, maar toch erg leuk.

De Spider-Man movies behoren tot mijn favoriete Superhero-verfilmingen.  Waar deel 1 van Raimi geen blijvende indruk op mij wist te maken, heeft deel 2 mij destijds omver geblazen.  Dr. Octopus was genieten!  Wat een teaser-trailer was dat ook!  Nog steeds met grote voorsprong de beste, imo.  In tegenstelling tot velen vond ik ook deel 3 zéér genietbaar, ondanks de gekende minpuntjes.  Maguire blijft mijn favoriet.  Omdat hij als geen ander ook dat speelse kon overbrengen, dat dorky kantje stond mij wel aan.  Dunst vond ik dubbel.  Uitstekende actrice, maar niet sympathiek genoeg als MJ.  Moet wel gezegd dat die in de comics óók niet echt altijd sympathiek overkomt.  Dus misschien toch wel perfect casting?  James Franco is ook mijn favoriete Harry Osborn.

En ook de Amazing-titels vond ik vrij goed.  Garfield vond ik eveneens een zeer goede Spider-Man, maar wel een tikkeltje te serieus.  Stone, die trouwens geweldig is in vele andere films, kon mij iets minder overtuigen.

De stand-alone SpiderMan films met Tom Holland heb ik helaas nog niet kunnen zien.  Ik vond Holland als klein manneke behoorlijk indruwekkend in The Impossible.  Maar zijn SpiderMan (Avengers, Captain America) vind ietwat gemaakt.  Hij heeft niet dat spontane van Maguire, naar mijn gevoel.  Maar goed, dat is op basis van zijn Spidey-bijrol.  Hopelijk kan hij mij verrassen in de twee meer losstaande titels.

Om... redenen heb ik die er niet bijgezet en daarom er ook beste live-action Spider-Man van gemaakt.

Maar het klopt wel dat dat één van de sterkste (zoniet de sterkste) Spider-movie is.

(al is er wel behoorlijk wat voorkennis voor nodig, want niet zo ideaal als het iemands eerste Spider-Man ervaring is)

Ja, ik had het net al aangepast om te verduidelijken, het was geen verwijt! Wou gewoon vermelden aangezien ik die echt extreem goed vond :)

 

En ook heel creatief op vlak van animatie. Ze mogen wel meer comic adaptaties zulke degelijke animatieverfilmingen geven.

So I’ve just seen the best reviewed Spider-man feature so far and even though I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit, I’m kind of underwhelmed by it as well. It a shame because ‘No Way Home’ has everything the trailer promised but lacks the time to really make it all work. I’ve complained about the fact that the Disney+ series are too stretched out and would have worked so much better as a feature film. Well, I think ‘No Way Home’ could have benefited from the Disney+ treatment. There’s so many characters and, even at two and a half hours, so little time to make them shine or give them a proper motivation for their actions or even being there. Also noticeable is the fine like Sam Raimi knew to walk by giving larger than life, almost cartoonish characters just enough pathos to still make them work as nuanced human beings. Jon Watts sadly seems to struggle with this. Now, before you think I didn’t enjoy this film and it isn’t worth the price of admission, it really is! (Even despite the annoying antics of a twenty something aged dude behind me that felt the urge to clap and cheer like a primate with a mental defect every time a new character popped up on the big screen…) There’s still a lot to enjoy. All the scenes with Doctor Strange are great and raises the anticipation for his second outing in the MCU. There are some genuine laughs to be had, some stand-out action pieces and there’s some time for drama and redemption. And then there’s an abundance of fan-service. The movie delivers exactly what the trailer served us but for a film that’s supposedly shrouded in secrecy there’s unfortunately very little to reveal. I can’t help but wonder what would have been possible if this was a two-parter. At times this movie feels like it’s a constructed piece of fan-fiction instead of lovingly put together. All the ingredients are there, but instead of letting it simmer on a hot stove they threw it in the microwave and presented it in one of those styrofoam boxes.

Daar zat toch niets van Kingpin, D'Onofrio of de Netflix-reeksen in het MCU in? Of heb ik dat gemist naast de pittoreske voorstelling van Nederland?

 

 

 

Nederland was in Far From Home.

En ja, in No Way Home zit een cameo van een figuur uit de Netflix-reeksen.
